Finance Director for the entirety of the Kidwells Group, Emily Horne, had the pleasure of being invited to Herefordshire & Ludlow College as the guest speaker for their annual Apprenticeship Awards. Emily started her accountancy journey at the College and previously worked there as a Purchase Control Officer and Supervisor. Attending the event was paramount to Emily. She loved seeing old faces and catching up with former colleagues.
Following the Principal, David Williams, and Assistant Principal, Alyson Moon, Emily presented her speech to the apprentices and their families, as well as the College tutors and Governors. During her speech, she outlined the importance of apprenticeships from the perspective of an employer and from the perspective of an apprentice. Emily understands both sides, as she started off as an apprentice and now employs one.
Emily proceeded to present the apprentices with their awards, she says “I felt privileged to be asked to give this speech, as I was an apprentice myself and understand the value in them. Thank you to the College for letting me be a part of the evening and congratulations to all who received awards
